For those of you who don’t really know us, we’re M&T Builders Merchants Helensburgh, a family-run business that opened our doors for the first time in 1978. Keeping up with the times – always

Although we’ve enjoyed a really loyal customer following since we opened our doors in 1978, we’re not people to sit back on our laurels. Far from it. We’re constantly looking for ways to cater for the needs of the customers that come through our doors (real or virtual) day after day, week after week.

Stock, systems and staff

At M&T Builders Merchants Helensburgh, our priority is making sure we have what you, our loyal customers are looking for, in stock. But at the same time, we realise we’re nothing without our people. That’s why we’re constantly investing in our business premises, processes and systems and especially in our people. 

We’re incredibly proud of the team at M&T Builders Merchants Helensburgh and want to do all we can to keep them happy and healthy in their work. We’re also conscious of the need to make inroads in our journey towards net zero.

Here are just a few things we’ve been up to recently that will hopefully demonstrate that we’re ‘walking the walk’ as well as ‘talking the talk’:

• We purchased our first battery forklift (the new lithium battery option), as the first step to greener machinery.
  
  
• We built a gym for our employees and their families. With restricted use in public gyms during Covid we felt this was a great way to use a spare area we had on site and help promote health and well-being for staff – there are no prizes for guessing – our staff and their families love it.
  
  
• We’ve created a new showroom/display area above our trade counter in the Handymans' Haunt. We have a number of internal doors, wardrobe door displays, wet wall and multi-panel options as well as a Palio flooring stand. This means you can now visit and see a range of products in ‘real life' as well as in the current brochures we have. There are also samples available to take away for some of the products – so you really can explore all the options in a comfortable and relaxed environment.
  
  
• We’ve given our brand a makeover by upgrading our logo which you may have noticed on our website. We will be rolling it out in the branch and on our vehicles soon – so look out for that.
  
  
• And we’ve also invested in a new online store so you can shop with us 24/7 even more easily and enjoyably than before.
